For two whole weeks there I was quietly enjoying what seemed like a ridiculous stroke of luck. I booked plane tickets to Chicago for Elaine and me on the 8th and other than the $10 Expedia service charge nothing had appeared on my credit card. I had a receipt, a confirmation from the airline, seating assignments, everything, all apparently for the grand total of $10. Sadly, today, fully two weeks later, the charge finally appeared on the card. I guess I'm not getting a $10 trip to Chicago, but at least I save two weeks interest on the air-fare.

How unfortunate… ! Maybe next time?

Did I ever tell you about the time that Ian and I tried to purchase this beautiful down filled sofa at Eaton’s?

We put it on a monthly plan. Up they brought it to the second floor and when they tried to deliver it they couldn’t get it past our apartment door. Our hallway was not long enough to accommodate it's length. I cried… it was suck a beautiful sofa… Like falling in to your own personal warm clouds.

Anyway as time went on and we were looking at the Eaton’s card monthly statement….

There was a credit for $1800.00 but no debit. After a couple of months Ian being the “good smaritan” (actually he didn’t want to spend the money and then have to pay it back at a later date) so he called notifying them about the error. Nothing changed so he wrote them a letter still nothing… so he called again. The woman on the phone said not to worry that it will show up eventually but by this time it had been over 10 months. 1 year later we still had a credit. So he decided to tempt fate and purchased a nice new work shirt mid range price b/c again he didn’t want to have to pay that much back if any red flags went up. But nothing happened… :-) After his first purchase we received a letter from Eaton’s credit department thanking us for being such good customers and informing us that a new company was now managing their credit department.

So needless to say… :-) we had a lot of gifts under the tree that Christmas. Soon after Eaton’s went under.

Not bad. I had a small balance on my Eaton's card that diappeared when they went under that conveniently disappeared, but nothing like that.
