So I found out from Aaron (Mr. Dark) last night that the meat-head and stripper contingent that were thankfully missing from the last Sin City weren't there because they are boycotting the night. Why? Because they weren't allowed to jump the line after "having attended since the very first night". An interesting claim to make to one of the promoters. I checked back in the gallery, knowing that they first showed up the month before Jim posted the first pictures of them. That puts their first attendance at the 16th month Sin City was running. Even more amusing given how many people who have remarked on how pleasant their absence was, they feel that by their failing to show up the night fill fail, that their presence is what makes the event.

Not being above using my website to further my own interests, I have decided to play against their vanity and self-importance and "assist" their boycott by removing all the pictures of them. With any luck at all they will notice and it will strengthen their resolve not to show up anymore. One can only hope.

There is no list, but looking back at the pictures I can verify that Graeme (g_ram), Lori (lori_monster), Chistine and Michael (strawberrygrl23 and saturn_13), Chris and Dave (sovietnimrod and his wife "Bug"), Elaine (valerian) and Seth (seth1334), Daevina and Isaac of course (lady_maleficent and cheekydevil), Jennifer was in the dungeon, Velvet Jenn (saturnina), Captain Ron (newbie604, someone named Dave ("DJ Blue"), Nancy (einspein), and Andra the stilt-dancer. There were, a few other people there that I don't recall, but there were only about 30 odd people there that first night and this has 24 of them accounted for. The meat-heads and strippers were most definitely *not* there and didn't start coming until well over a year later.

I think if the strippers were there they would have been even more annoying, at least in a crowd of 300 people you don't see them as much.

Precisely. Around the time they did start coming there was much discussion about how lame it was. If I went back in my journal and/or e-mail to that time I could probably find some posts and comments about it.

Yeah, if Bug and I were there at that first night (which I believe we were), I certainly don't recall there being any strippers of any sorts.

OK I just checked my diary and I can confirm that we were indeed there for the grand opening on May 12, 2001. Bug, Lorimonster and myself met up with Saturn13 and Strawberry Girl at their apartment before all making our way there.

30? I don't think so ... we didn't crack 200 - let alone 300 - for at least six or seven months, but it most certainly was over 100 the first time out ....

we have only missed three Sin City's since it's inception:
1. On Honeymoon in Cuba
2. In Hospital with Appendicitus/post op from Surgery
3. Bronchil Pneumonia a few years ago.

I'm glad the fucking meat monkeys won't be coming back..who needs to be around certain assholes if you don't have to??
