"Professionalism" is a set of rules designed to allow people with limited social skills to coexist in places they'd rather not be, doing things they'd rather not be doing.
(Something that occurred to me when I worked in the HSBC cubicle farm next to a loud and flatulent individual.I just came across it in an old notebook.)
Many years ago there were two individuals with somewhat similar habits at a place I used to work... they had cubicles beside each other and would loudly comment on the noises emanating from each other's spaces.
Fortunately, my cubicle was separated from theirs by a hallway (read: DMZ).
Secretly, I always thought that having two people with such similar behaviors in close physical proximity should cause some sort of dimensional disturbance -- ideally resulting in them bursting into flames.
