that is hilarious...but so very strange that someone across the country not only has that bill but actually made an icon out of it, posted it, and you came across it...that's a lot of coincidence...
I know. The last images site I look at shows 20 pictures. It usually takes no more than 2 minutes for all the images to roll over. For it to be there at all and then happening to hit just the right 2-minute window is a huge coincidence.
It was a completely random happenstance and I have no connection to this person. I have no idea who the person is IRL. The link is to the post in their journal, though, if you want to follow it and see if you might know him.
Piling on the weirdness, I was explaining the whole Spock bill concept to an American a week ago, googled to find an example, and that was the exact image I came up with.
Has anyone tried it with the new $5 bills? I haven't.
It's kinda cool to think that Nemoy has seen this! I've told Michael this story but for everyone else: in the late '80s I was working in a trendy Toronto restaurant and Nemoy's agent (well, he said he was...)was sitting next to the food pickup counter where we in the kitchen were drawing a bill for the waiters. Spock's agent heard us, we gave him the bill, and he chuckled and said he "just HAD to show this to Leonard."
And speaking of money, has anyone seen one of the new quarters?
And on a tangental note, don't you think it is about time to get Trudeau on some money? I think getting us control of the BNA and *real* autonomy from England deserves getting him up along side the Fathers of Confederation.
yeh no doubt...in fact him and pearson could make an appearance...get that ragged old queen off of our money...if i want to see that i can cruise davie street...
Laurier, Macdonald, King - sure; but Borden? Might as well put St. Laurent! I'd switch Borden for Pearson. And yeah, the Queen can come off the coins anytime now - put Stompin' Tom on the back of the Nickel!
