I just got a call from a recruiter looking for a developer for HSBC. Given my history with them I really doubt I have a shot, nor would I really want it, but I'm glad my résumé is getting nibbles. Once they start they keep coming.

Hahahahaaa!

Didn't they look you up just 6 months ago for the same job?

Since they do six-month contracts-to-hire I guess the last guy didn't work out.

Ah, ok that makes sense. You know, they might take you in a snap if they've been having bad luck, regardless of your "past" with them. However I get the feeling you would rather stick three star-shaped studs in your forehead than go back to them...

There are advantages. The work is easy, and it progresses so slowly that there is pretty much zero stress and it is very, very easy to "shut off" at the end of the day.

The best part is when the nibbles keep coming in AFTER you get a new job and you used your cell phone number, so you can answer these calls at work in front of your new boss with with yes, why yes I found a job and uh-huh uh-huh... Heheh Power Tripping is fun!

hehe...

I like the attitude!

Good luck in the continuing hunt, you will get what you want.
