I just got a call from a recruiter looking for a developer for HSBC. Given my history with them I really doubt I have a shot, nor would I really want it, but I'm glad my résumé is getting nibbles. Once they start they keep coming.
Ah, ok that makes sense. You know, they might take you in a snap if they've been having bad luck, regardless of your "past" with them. However I get the feeling you would rather stick three star-shaped studs in your forehead than go back to them...
There are advantages. The work is easy, and it progresses so slowly that there is pretty much zero stress and it is very, very easy to "shut off" at the end of the day.
The best part is when the nibbles keep coming in AFTER you get a new job and you used your cell phone number, so you can answer these calls at work in front of your new boss with with yes, why yes I found a job and uh-huh uh-huh... Heheh Power Tripping is fun!
