A bad scan of my awesome new toy.

My new Blackberry arrived today. This was a deal included with a car-rental. After Elaine's car got mangled we realised that it was cheaper to occasionally rent a car for grocery shopping than to pay for parking and insurance. In March there was a deal with the car rental place we go to: free Blackberry with any rental. Given that my current Blackberry belongs to the company and I'll have to forfeit it soon, I decided to capitalize on the deal. The deal was supposed to be for the same model I currently have, the black-and-white model. I guess they ran out because the one that showed up today the newer colour model. I got a fee upgrade on my free Blackberry. I am pleased.

I am now going to fart around with transferring the data from my old BB to my new one...

I've often wondered what owning a BB would be like -- I use GPRS on my cell quite a bit, as I find checking email more important than receiving phone calls ;-) Typing messages on a numeric keypad is a royal pain, however.

Being able to actually browse the web would be pretty cool, though...

I'm already having way to much fun with this thing. The colour makes the browser way more useful, and unlike the old one I had, I can do fun customizations (Gothic BC logout screen, Addams Family ringtone... stuff I wouldn't have done on a "work" phone even if I could have).

Heh... I have Addams Family, Twilight Zone, and Halloween alarm sounds on my PDA. I keep meaning to add similar ringtones to my phone...
