I'm sick of all the fucked up crazy people. Listen up: It isn't cool to be fucked up. It isn't cool to cultivate your stupidity. It isn't cool to need 4 different pills to make it through the day. Stop cultivating it and get over it. Just because there is a label for your disease doesn't excuse your behaviour. Grow the fuck up.

There was a point where goth was about romance and intellectualism. It was the last bastion of 19th century Bohemianism. Now all I see are a bunch of fucked up idiot punks that are all about fetish and sheer volume, people that didn't know jack shit about Bohemianism until "Moulin Rouge" came out (not that it isn't a perfectly brilliant movie).

I'm tired of the idiot frat-boys in plastic pants. I'm tired of the hypochondriac whores vying for attention. I'm tired of spending my time and money "supporting" the scene when "enabling" would be a better word.

Being goth used to be about finding what was beautiful and true in a sea of ugliness and lies. There is nothing beautiful left.

I applaude you. I have been saying the same thing for quite some time. I stopped going out to the clubs because it has become a fashion show and a big soap opera, and I feel like I'm getting too old for the crap. Quite honestly, All "scenes" become different over time, Instead of trying to keep my youth in one place, I am evolving. I'm tired of playing the games. I am the same as I ever was, but the world does change around us, my friend. Now I keep the friends I have made and create my own planet wrapped in the things I love. Anyway, I am on your page, it's nice to know that other ppl are as well.

Sure, I know that scenes change. I've been part of this one since I edged away from punk in about 1983 or so. I've seen a couple of transformations. It's nothing new. The Haight-Ashbury crowd declaired the Hippy movement dead in 1967. "Goth" just kind of sprung up around me, I've never tried to be Goth. That's what I have to remember here. I do what makes me happy and what somebody else decides to label it is their problem.

I'm just mad at myself for getting too caught up in what other people are (or are not) thinking. It's all a matter of choice. I don't have to do anything.

This is oh so true. Everyone has their reasons for doing the things that they do, regardless if we agree with them or not. I have learned to see others in a detatched and curious way, and to continue living in my own code. It makes things so much more fluid. The ones I don't agree with amuse me. Anyway, I'm still with ya.
