I got asked today "if it would be a problem" to fly to Vernon for a software demo. Yes, it is a fucking problem. Spending eight hours of my life travelling on wingèd tin-cans one step removed from Mexican buses with with old-women holding chickens sitting in the back, just to attend a four-hour demo for software I don't give a shit about? I think not. If I don't give a flying fuck, I'm not fucking flying, thank-you-very-much.

You should go to the Demo! Book the most expensive flight (ya ok if possible, considering the location of the event) rent a limo and get plastered. Make sure that the room / hall what have you has a jumbo camping cooler filled with ice and beer. Once all who are to attend are present and comfortably seated, lift up the lid and toss one at them proclaiming “Heads Up!” or “Incoming!” and so on. I say if you are going to go out go out with a BANG!

Only problem with that it then they would deny my expenses... and even worse I wouldn't be able to stay out at the Red Room Sunday because I'd either have to leave Sunday night or get up stupidly early Monday.

Besides, I have to go there the following week anyway (which is another reason for being irritated about this request: I'm not going all the way to Vernon twice inside two weeks).
