Well, I am on the Skytrain on my way to my first day at the new job. I wonder how it will go?

Good luck! I hope it goes well. I get to do the same thing in a month...except for the Skytrain part.

It could be... how about this... float-plane harbour to harbour, Skytrain one stop from Waterfront to Burrard, bus to Tsawassen, ferry, and then the bus back into Vic and there you go! The whole thing shouldn't take more than 4 hours or so... yeah...

Not sure if you've looked into this, but try taking the 160 bus out there - I swear it is way faster than skytrain/transferring to another bus etc.

According to the translink site the 160 and C28 gets me there either 25 minutes early or 5 minutes late in the morning. The train + 97B only takes 5 minutes longer and gets me there five minutes early. Same problem getting home: either I have to cut out 10 minutes early or stand at the bus stop for 20 minutes.

Basically, the 160 is a little bit faster, but because it only runs every half hour and the 97B connects City Hall to the Skytrain every ten minutes the B-Line/Skytrain option works out better when wait time is factored in.

Yeah, if today was representative, the both legs on the train are pretty empty on the way out, but the 97B fills up briefly with high-school kids (but after I have my seat since I'm getting on at the first stop). On the way back the bus and trains are fuller, but I still didn't have a problem getting a seat on all three legs.

Good luck! Hopefully you won't be as lost as I was on my first day!

I wasn't completely lost. I even made some small updates to the website today. Overwhelmed, though. I have a "to-do" list three metres long and I'm going to have to spend a couple days reading just to figure out what needs to be done first.

Thanks. As far as first days go, it wasn't bad. As soon as I can get over how spoiled I was at my old job before it went to shit, I'll be good ;-)

Too late to say good luck. But I wish you luck for the rest of the duration of your new job! ^_^
