I just finished my interview - it went well. The person I'll be replacing is also an immigrant (Scottish) and said she had no problems at all. I double checked my points with NZ Immigration and have more than enough, and it helps that the job is outside Auckland. The job sounds interesting, they have a very complex Notes/Domino environment that should keep me from getting bored any time soon. The complexity of the environment also says lots of good things to me about the longevity of the job - they won't be migrating away any time soon. This is very real, folks. They've got someone on contract for the next three months so that puts the outside time frame for starting at about two months. Sorry, [livejournal.com profile] evilyn13, but I might not be around for your birthday.

Not yet. I just made it past round one (or round two, depending on how you look at it). The first guy I spoke with, whose title I'm not sure of, was the screener. This was the "real" interview with the HR manager and the developer I'll be replacing. At this point I would say that I am on the short-list. I expect at least one more interview and probably some kind of skills test before the offer comes.
