On my way to the SkyTrain this morning I crossed paths with one of the hundred richest men in Canada; he noticed me, looked down, and changed his path to avoid me. Me, I was ready to smile and say, "Hi, Al."

Looks like Al Thorlakson has a guilty conscience.

Most super wealthy people do unless they give heaps and heaps of money to charity, or make up for all of the 'totally legal' things they have done :) Or by doing something like this => http://www.cbc.ca/story/science/national/2006/04/20/liver-transplant060420.html!

Yes, but general guilt is a different thing than the interaction that went on this morning.

LOL! No, but this was a person-to-person reaction. He knows me, I've had face to face conversations with him and he's aware that I'm not interested in or intimidated by his wealth, and withouth that, there isn't much to him.

Aaaaah, now I get it :) Yeah, some people don't have much else besides a whole lot of money, because making money is all they are really interested in. That in itself doesn't make a great person or make them worthy of special treatment or anything like that. I don't know why so many people have so much respect for people with lots of money. I am sure it is that whole American Dream thing, but that by no means makes them worthy of respect in itself :) I judge people on the kind of person they are and what they do (for work and fun). I like people who can tell me/show me who they really are and why they are here. Sounds like you are the same way :)

I can see why he would be guilty/intimidated by you. Maybe you remind him of this stuff?
