An Odd Thing to Enjoy

Later today I will be photographing a local dignitary and as I was entering the Skytrian station something occurred to me: the gear that I am carrying looks very much like I could be carrying a bomb and a rifle. This morning I find myself thankful that I am living in a city and a country that haven't lapsed into complete paranoia.

If we continue to allow these bad things to happen in other parts of the world, they will indeed happen in our own back yard soon too. Where is the love for Humanity?

Yes. Sitting by while our neighbouring country slips into fascism is a dangerous thing, especially when their propaganda spills over our borders and infects young minds here with false ideas.

by means of ever more effective methods of mind-manipulation, the democracies will change their nature; the quaint old forms — elections, parliaments, Supreme Courts and all the rest — will remain. The underlying substance will be a new kind of non-violent totalitarianism. All the traditional names, all the hallowed slogans will remain exactly what they were in the good old days.
