For [livejournal.com profile] 9322 and [livejournal.com profile] tricksterpants:

Purple City!
(You have to have lived in Victoria when the Empress was still lit up with sodium lamps to get this...)

[livejournal.com profile] valerian and I got back this afternoon from a little mini-vacation in Victoria. It was a nice break from the usual as well as a bit surreal since I used to live in Victoria twenty years ago.

YEAH!! Hahahaha... that made my evening! I was over there last weekend with Mel for a little Thanksgiv'er jaunt and it was nice, but yes definitely surreal. It's so familiar but so far away, y'know?

That makes me nostalgic! I love living in Germany, but Victoria is so safe and familiar. I am looking forward to having a little working vacation there next summer in between working here and moving to Ottawa for grad school.

lol...oh sure, NOW you go to Vic ;)
Blade always wanted to get the gold statue on the top of parliament, he said our fortunes would be made, but he couldn't find a willing helicopter pilot ;)

THAT IS TEH AWESOME!!!
I so miss the days of Purple City....
And it is right that no one can really understand what we mean unless you lived or visited Victoria in the 80's/early 90's.
I an quite sure alot of others would remember this as well....Gram, Pix just to name a few!
Thanx.
That totally took me back to my high school punk days!
