Seriously. First it is squirrels in Elaine's underwear drawer, now raccoons on the balcony. What's next? A black bear on the fire escape? Wolverines in the laundry room?

Wow...that's interesting. Then again, I've seen skunks crossing Pacific at Hornby on my way to work (5 a.m.), so I'm not that surprised.

Yup, skunks on the street aren't unusual, especially this close to Staney Park, and I wouldn't be surprised to see a raccoon on the street either - but on my balcony a good twenty feet above street level?!

i've seen a coyote running down broughton street right near the barclay heritage houses...right in the middle of the afternoon...man did he look scared and confused...

As for squirrels, I had a squirrel come into my apartment one morning and wake me up. It came through the screen flap thingy in the window, and the flap closed behind it so it couldn't leave. When it saw me it got very aggressive. Then teh thing jetted to my bathroom and was trying to climb up the tiles but kept falling back into the tub, which made it even more angry. It was hissing and I started being afraid I'd suffer death by squirrel. Eventually I opened one window and let it leave. But man, was it ever a freaky thing to happen while I was still half asleep!

Imagine finding a very scared and frustrated squirrel hiding in your dresser (um, my underwear drawer actually)...

We managed to corner him and get him back outside, but the weird hissing/rasping/angry wheezes he made before we'd released him was utterly bizarre. What a horrid noise! I wasn't at all intimidated by the thing until then; sounded like it was a much bigger, nastier creature than it actually was. Who knew?

Yeah, the quirrel that got into my apartment made those exact noises. I guess its task to scare me worked really well, hahaha!
