I just spent far too long making my mySpace not look entirely like crap.

I loathe mySpace. Hacking around the layout of their blighted profile pages was an interesting exercise in CSS inheritance, albeit verging on painful. Nonetheless I managed to kill off a lot of the clutter and get the thing looking somewhat like it has a relationship to my main site.

I added you back. I have a Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/p/Michael_R_Barrick/569695225) account, and a a bunch of other blog-site and social/professional-networking site accounts, none of which I use much since it is impossible to keep up with them all. Doing something with mySpace, however, became a necessity since my account was starting to gain visibility so I couldn't tolerate it being an ugly little backwater of my online presence any longer.

I wasted more than a few days on the various pages I have as well ... you're kinda obligated to have one since so many people use it, but I hear you about the site arm wrestling AGAINST you for any effort to make the pages look decent. What a hassle!

When people started finding my mySpace space (<-- wonderfully redundant) because of the Sanctuary and Sin City spaces I had to acquiesce and do something with it.

Really? Well, then, allow me to further spread my evil influence. On both the Sin City and Sanctuary pages I made specialized clickable buttons which took you to the Dark Vancouver and Wreckords pages. I always intended to make one linking to the photo galleries at Gothic BC as well, but perhaps you might want to do it? I'd rather have some graphic design on there anyway that isn't mine if you're up for it. They need to be all red, black and white, width 250 pixels, height 182, and I need two versions, one with a white background and one with black.

I rely on myspace for my business - in fact 99% of my video business came through myspace networking (myspae.com/mvpvideo)


I detest the layout of the site and the buggy nature of the site but I absolutely require it to promote video work to the music and entertainment industry

However after 2000+ contacts and $5000+ in business last year - I can't deny its power so I will put up with much
