Just waiting for a process to finish in the background. I often wonder how much of my life has been spent waiting for blue lines to crawl across my computer screen. But what the hell, I'm getting paid for it. The idea of getting paid on a regular basis started to sink in last night at the club. Not only do I have my rent and bills sorted out for this month, but I have the next six month, (and longer if I take the full-time job) lined up. I've been mentally shopping since the idea started to gel. I'll be able to get the things I need like some new clothes and food and such and still have money left for luxuries like an upgrade from my overworked server and a digital camera that can work in low light. Yay!

Ungh. I worked on this one last frigging project I have today. I don't want to do it anymore. If it wasn't for this obligation I could have enjoyed the day, but noooooo.... I'm here working. This must stop. If I must do this eight-hours-a-day thing downtown I want my off time to be off time. I want to paint and draw pictures and go to the pub. I hate transitions. I'm not doing this next weekend. This project gets finished this weekend and that's that!

Third day at the new job and I am bored silly. I'm sitting here inventing ways to update my LiveJournal without it leaving a trace in the proxy logs. So the best I can think of right now is using a word file on a floppy that I can take with me and then cut and paste into my Live Journal later. I'll have to think of something better later.

The upside of not having any work right now is that I am starting to get some of those "one of those days when I have time" things done. I'm got my new website going (of which this journal is a part) and now I have finally gotten my web cam running again.

Other useless accomplishments in the last little while also include getting PHP running on under Domino (something that isn't supposed to work, BTW), setting up disc quotas so I'm not susceptible to upload DoS attacks, and a few other resoundingly geeky things. Maybe over the long weekend I'll stay away from the computer a bit and get some drawing and painting done.

No real news on the job front. I found out what was wrong with the recruiter that never got back to me... he quit (or was fired). Another outfit called me today about something with Telus. That could be a good job. I'm supposed to hear something of that tomorrow. No word on the bank or the wireless place yet. Nothing but nibbles. I need someone to bite, damnit!
