So here I am, one day into my 35th year, another year along the path to dusty death. Sure, on the bright side I made it through another year, but the other side of the coin is I have one year less left. Since the men in my family are not statistically long-lived I am inclined to live my life like a bull in a china shop, yet in order to survive from day to day I am a calf in a veal-fattening pen.

Yeah, I'm biding my time and cleaning up some of the mess I accumulated in my 20's and by my 35th birthday I should be pretty much clear of those mistakes, but a year seems like a long time. I want things to happen faster. I want things to happen now. I've already wasted too much time.

What sounds like cannon fire has begun. The cats are freaked out. The courtyard is echoing from the sound of every fucking dog in the building barking their asses off (which is another thing - dogs in apartments is just plain wrong!), idiot suburbanites are running up the alley and dodging traffic on the bridge lest they miss the 'splosions, car alarms are going off, and I just want to go to sleep because I need to go to work tomorrow. Top it all off that it is sponsored by the bank to which I sell my days, for which I need to get to sleep...

The HSBC/Powersmart Festival of Money (formerly the Benson & Hedges Symphony of Death). "It blowed up good. It blowed up reeeeal good."
