And It is Lunch-Time
Dec. 19th, 2005 01:09 pmLike a good union man I am on a break, time for some guilt-free LiveJournaling. Not that I have much to say. The forecast this morning was predicting snow so I brought my IR camera in today in the hopes of taking some pictures in the snow to pass this pointless hour. No such luck. It is just raining unphotogenically out here.
It will be a while before I get any new word about Ontario. I expect I'll have to go out there bewteen Christmas and New Year's Eve. I hope it comes through because we'll be able to get the store together that much faster. That, and I could use the change of scene.
Frankly, I'm a little depressed. Working in I.T. ain't what it used to be. More and more technology decisions are being mandated by people who don't know their mass from a black hole on the recommendations of marketing weasels.
I'm just not excited about anything I'm doing. Nothing is happening to get excited about. I need some inspiration. I need to feel that something I'm doing is remarkable.

:)
But I know what you mean, there is little day-to-day challenge right now to keep the ol' mental fire lit (at least working on Convergence was good for the brain, but that's obviously out now). I fear your last job had sucked a good deal of spirit out of you - it's always harder to get things rolling when you're already feeling flat. Plus I know the new routine isn't exactly ideal. Hopefully things will change in a couple of weeks. And if not, we should think about going on some sort of holiday in the spring to get out of here for a while, even if it's just a long weekend in Seattle or something.
