Starting September 15 and running through to January 14 next year Science World is going to have an exhibit of plastinated corpses, "Body Worlds 3".

Plastination is a process by which dead bodies are infused with polymers to prevent decomposition. In these displays the bodies are presented in action-poses, exploded views, cross-sections, etc. These are real people that have willingly donated their bodies for this use after death.

I think it would be great fun to get a bunch of people together for a group outing to see this exhibit.

I was reading about this in the papers. They're looking for volunteers to work there, I was thinking about doing that if I didn't work. I still want to go see it though.

My dilemma is whether to take my 5 1/2 year old. I dunno, that would have squicked me out when I was a kid, or would it have...
*dilemma*

I don't know. It really depends on the kid. Personally I would have been fascinated by it at that age, but another kid could be really spooked.

Definitely a tough call.

I did Body Worlds II
