Interesting, because pair that up with the parking situation which has become brutal downtown in the past two years.
I recall reading there was at one time 40,000 parking spots downtown on the street and parking lots. Since then however, three parking lots downtown have been made into condos and there also been a loss of street parking since many of the Yaletown one-way streets were made two-way (resulting in a loss of a parking lane).
So if there aren't that many cabs to begin with, they're now over-worked even more because folks simply won't bother driving downtown and skytrain doesn't work for a lot of people.
