I was late for work this morning. Normally that doesn't matter much but on Thursdays we have our "team meeting" (yay, team! ) so my tardiness was very noticable. In these meetings we all rattle off what we have been doing for the last week, then for theoretically unrelated reasons we also type out everything we've been working on for the last week and mail it to our bosses, who also attend the Thurday meeting. It's it completely redundant. If we all cc'd eachother on the "status report" e-mails we wouldn't need the meeting. But that's OK, because meetings kill time and I'm happy to be paid for doodling. But from an efficiency standpoint it makes no sense. My appreciation of Dilbert cartoons is growing be leaps and bounds.

The American consulate is in the building across the street. There is a protest rally going on in the street right now about the softwood tariff.

Good on 'em.

I went down and joined in. I was out on the street yelling, "Hey! Ho! Lumber tariff's gotta go!" at the American consulate. Ha!

I didn't and don't agree with some of the politics that were being espoused by the union bosses, but I was once a member of the IWA and I come from a logging town. My mother's first job in Canada was at the recently shut-down Youbou sawmill. My brother-in-law works in the Crofton mill and my sister, two neices and a nephew depend on that. My brother could use a decent union job.

The US can't talk free trade and then reneg on it when they can't compete.

After going downstairs and lending my body to the softwood tariff protest outside the US consulate I'm all riled up. Kinda makes the corporate chains feel a little heavier.

"You never know what the tide is going to bring in" - how about a three-kilometer high tidal wave that sneaks up behind you and smacks you in the head with the aft section of the Titanic?

First of all this is a direct quote from my horoscope today "Open a surprise from the past that you sent yourself in a letter."

Now this is a direct quote from the e-mail I just got from Suzanne!! "I am so sorry for not answering the letter you sent me. I don't even remember how long ago it was, and I think you sent it to my old house."

That was over a year ago. This is Suzanne! The one that got away. The one that I've spent the last seven years kicking myself over for having married Dianna instead of following through with her. She just e-mailed me out of the blue. She mentioned reading my blog. I've talked about this stuff in my blog. In fact I have on occasion gone on about her at length in my LiveJournal (note the "friends only" status of this post)

Holy crap. l;kdg;ig;oirnv;orijf!!!! Panic!!!

Comment! Help!!! Say something. I'm freaked. Stunned. Literally shaking.

w00t!

Yes!! Sanctuary is happening this weekend - at Club 212, just around the corner from the Purple Onion. Guess I won't be going to the scooter thing after all. What a completely weird day today has been...
