I feel odd

While on the one hand I am very pleased that the weather has taken a change for the better (i.e. darker, wetter, colder) I'm also less than thrilled with the oppressive Mondayness of the day not to mention a few other annoyances.

Someone is griping at me because I haven't gotten around to updating someone's name on the Gothic BC website. I have half a mind to take it down just because it isn't fun anymore. *sigh* If you do nothing no one notices you and no one complains. It's not that I haven't had complements on the site, some people do appreciate what I have done, but there are just too many people that confuse complaining about everything with actually having opinions.

Of course the solution is simple. I don't owe anyone any apologies for what I've created. I'm not doing this for money or for popularity, it's just for fun.

There are other things going on that have me bummed as well. Funny how there is always something. Money is finally sorting itself out (albeit not quite fast enough - I'm not going to be able to afford travel and lodging for C7). But one whinge at a time...

I think the gothic.bc site is great. Try not to take the complaints too personally, I mean, it's supposed to be a fun thing for you to do right? If you treat it like a chore it'll become like a job where you don't get paid and stop being fun. That would suck. Just work at your own pace and on your own time. ^_^

mondayness...

there is a definite quality to mondayness and yesterday certainly had it, even way over here on the east coast (where i had to deal with monday a few hours before you did.) :}

perhaps you can institute a very useful event called "apathy day". i'm lucky enough to have a few very cool co-workers, and a while back we came up with this as a way to deal on difficult days. anyone can declare an apathy day, and is allowed to not give a sh*t all day. of course, i don't know how upper management would feel about it all, but it's one of the crazy little things we do to get through the week. mondays are almost always apathy days.

as for the BC Gothic site, i poked aorund a bit- quite cool. can i become an honoary canadian? :}

I got a reprieve today. I was going to have to work on Eastern time this Friday, but that has been postponed for a week. I'm going to have to be available for some people in Toronto (which is in the same timezone as New York). Oh, well. It just means I get to leave at 2pm.

Thanks for the compliment on the site. I think the first step to becoming an Honorary Canadian would be to never refer to yourself as a Canadian to other Canadians. You are hereby an Honorary British Columbian and Vancouverite. Now you are entitled to be taxed up the wazoo, apologise for things you didn't do, and spell colour with a 'u'.

since i spell colour with a "u" anyway, and i owe my old government about $800 yet, i think i'm two-thirds of the way there! (that spelling thing *still* gets me in trouble- my teachers hated it!)

i even like canadian groups- have you ever heard of "moxy fruvous"? they're from toronto and have quite a little cult following here in the states...

oh geez, i can't even believe i'm sharing this... :} i used to be a resident camp counselor, and one summer two of my counselors and i decided to defect to canada. we sang "oh canada" at inopportune times and laid out our escape route on a map. it got us through most of the summer...

okay, so i'm weird. we all knew it already. ;}

The plan

Perhaps I should let you in on the plan (http://www.standonguard.com/), now that you are one of us.

I like Moxy Früvous, too. Ever listen to the Shuffle Demons, Shadowy Men from a Shadowy Planet, Great Big Sea, The Colorifics, or Crash Test Dummies? All 100% Canadian favourites of mine. Not to mention Dayglow Abortions, Forgotten Rebels, Natalie MacMaster... geez the more I think about it, I listen to a lot of Canadian music.
